Signs it's time for replacement

1. Spalling and surface flaking. When the top layer of concrete chips away and exposes aggregate, water has penetrated the slab. Freeze-thaw cycles and pool chemicals accelerate spalling. A resurfacing overlay or full replacement stops the deterioration before it reaches the reinforcement.
